There is an excellent article in Credo reference about the causes of both physical and sexual abuse. Go to a basic libguide at libguides.brenau.edu/allpurpose and click on the Book tab. The first box you will see on this page is the Credo reference box. Type the words Causes of Sexual Abuse into the Credo search box. You will be asked for your six digit student ID number and the first part of your Brenau email address. The first article in the results has a detailed explanation of some of the root causes of sexually abusive behavior.
There are two additional places that you should look for information on molestation and juveniles. Go back to the books tab on the all purpose libguide and type the words Sexual Abuse AND Juveniles into the library catalog's search bar. Be sure not to leave out the word AND. You will see an e-book which discusses this topic. Click on the View Online button to access the e-book.
Next go to articles tab in the all purpose libguide. Choose the database Academic Search Complete. Type the words sexual abuse AND juveniles into the search bar. Also, click on the full text and the scholarly/peer review button to the left of the screen. Then hit enter. To view the full text of an article, click on the title of the article, and then click on PDF Full Text. You can email this article to yourself using the tools to the right of your screen.
