This is a great question. LibGuides offer books, articles, and web sites because that's what your professors generally specify to use for assignments. Rather than starting with web sites, you may want to start with articles. It's easier to get an overview of the information available to you. As a business student you would usually use the Business LibGuide, but the information you need for this assignment isn't directly related to business. The All Purpose Guide is a better choice for this assignment.
Click to the guide, choose the Journal Articles tab, and click on Academic Search Complete as your starting point. All of these databases (collections of articles) will have some relevant information, but this is a good choice to begin your research. It offers magazine and journal articles. You will be asked for your 6 digit student ID number and your email user name, dhudson.
I suggest you search adult learning AND andragogy. The AND is an important part of the search; it helps return more relevant articles. Andragogy is "the art and science of helping adults learn" according to Knowles, who developed the theory. If the assignment requires it, you can use the left side toolbar to limit the results to the last 5 or 10 years. This search (with no date limiter) returns 86 articles. Among them is Merriam, S. B. (2001). Andragogy and self-directed learning: Pillars of adult learning theory. New Directions For Adult & Continuing Education, 2001(89), 3. doi:10.1002/ace.3 . This article provides a good overview of the theory of adult learning.
Try mixing up your search terms if you don't find what you're looking for. Learning style AND adult students is a good search, as is adult learners. Adult learning would also be good.
It can be helpful to search more than one database. I chose the second database from the LibGuide, Research Library by ProQuest and searched learning style AND adult students. I got a number of relevant results, including Cleary, M. N. (2011). How Antonio graduated on out of here: Improving the success of adult students with an individualized writing course. Journal of Basic Writing, 30(1), 34-63. This article is much more practical than the theoretical article listed above. Both might contribute to the paper from two different perspectives.
Next you can search for online books through the LibGuide, or Google web sites.
Good luck with your paper.
