We don't use RefWorks at Brenau unless an individual student chooses to buy it. We recommend Zotero instead.

Yep. Zotero is an excellent alternative to the expensive bibliographic organizers like RefWorks and EndNote, and it's free. Your librarians will help you install Zotero and learn how to use it.

This is the most powerful version of Zotero, with additional functionality not found in the Standalone version. The Library supports Zotero for Firefox because it is the most powerful alternative. Zotero for Firefox "lives" in the Firefox browser window. This is the version taught in our classes. We strongly suggest you download and use this version for your research. The alternative, Zotero Standalone, "lives" in its own window but "talks to" Firefox, Chrome, or Safari, depending on the version you download. We are not as familiar with Zotero Standalone, and offer less support for this version. If you are an intuitive power user, this version of Zotero may suit your needs well.
Did I mention that Zotero also "talks to" Word? As you type papers, Zotero will insert formatted citations into your document, and create the bibliography at the end, all in APA (or dozens of other) citation styles.
The Zotero LibGuide also includes videos on how to use Zotero. As with any of the bibliographic organizer software, there is a learning curve.
