If you have been getting a message asking you to:

Please enter a valid 6-digit ID and Username to view this database

The problem is not your log in information, or your computer.

We are experiencing technical difficulties with our proxy server.  We’ve been working frantically with our vendor to solve the problem, and they are continuing to try to fix the issue.

In the meantime, you need to get your research done.  But don’t worry, there are other ways to access our books and databases.

If you need to look for something in print:

To access our over 68,000 electronic books:

Go to eBooks at EBSCOHost.

For articles, access our Databases A-Z:

Go to

You can also access our journals and databases from any of our subject-related research guides.  Our guides are compiled by professional librarians and are designed to provide useful tips and information especially oriented to the particular guide’s subject.

For a list of guides, go to

We will notify you when the problem with access to our catalog has been alleviated.  We apologize for the inconvenience and hope your research hasn't been unduly affected.

  1. Our technical difficulties with the online catalog have been resolved. Users on campus and off campus should now be able to log in and access all the the library's resources available to them.

If you have problems unrelated to the issue of receiving the "Please enter a valid 6-digit ID and Username to view this database," check out this LibAnswer to see if it helps.

Why can't I log into the Library database?

I still can't log into the article or database I need to access! I'm using my Brenau email username and 6-digit ID!
