Could you please send me some articles on obsessive compulsive disorders?

I am doing research for my Abnormal Psychology course. I am not familiar with with papers on Psychology. I need some good resources to use. Is there any chance you can give me some good sources?

It's really difficult to research outside of your usual discipline! I suggest you begin with our Psychology LibGuide, which will link you to the best resources in Psychology. Click through to

Your professor will demand scholarly resources - the best quality of information - which includes both books and articles. Be sure to choose books and articles which are written for an audience of researchers, professors, and students, not the general public. Click either yellow tab, books or articles. The information you need will be found in both formats. Choose books for operational definitions, general background, and theory. Choose articles for current research.

If you are asked for a password, input the current GALILEO password. If you don't know it, instructions are located under the Articles tab of the LibGuide, in the lower right corner.

Under the Books tab, locate the Online Books box and click on eBooks on EBSCOhost. This will take you to our collection of full text, fully searchable eBooks. A search of "obsessive compulsive disorder" (be sure to use the quotation marks to focus your search!) yields 489 books. I suggest books such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Theory, Research, and Treatment, Wiley Series in Clinical Psychology by Menzies, Ross G.; De Silva, Padmal Publication: Chichester, West Sussex, England, Hoboken, NJ John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. (UK), 2003 or Obsessive-compulsive DisorderWPA Series Evidence and Experience in Psychiatry ; V. 4 by Maj, Mario, Publication: Chichester, Hoboken, NJ John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. (UK), 2002.

Under the Articles tab, in the Databases box, I suggest clicking on the Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. This specialized psychology database will have a wealth of articles on your topic. In the search box, enter your search term: "obsessive compulsive disorder". Then scroll down a bit and click the boxes for full text (since you need the articles immediately) and peer reviewed, scholarly information. Input your date range, probably the last 5 years. This search yields 564 high quality results. Depending on the topic of your paper, you may find Lewin, A. B., Bergman, R., Peris, T. S., Chang, S., McCracken, J. T., & Piacentini, J. (2010). Correlates of insight among youth with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Journal of Child Psychology & Psychiatry, 51(5), 603-611. doi:10.1111/j.1469-7610.2009.02181.x to be a good choice. There are many others, though which would be relevant.

You could further focus the results by adding to your search terms, for example "obsessive compulsive disorder" AND children yields 129 results. "obsessive compulsive disorder" AND treatmentyields 253 results. Choose your article by reading the title and pointing to the magnifying glass & paper icon at the end of the title. This will pop up the abstract so you can get a more in-depth idea of the contents. To view the article itself, click on the PDF full text link.
