How do I find example dissertations for my EdD program?

Details

I'm in Brenau's doctorate of education program. My chair told me to find doctoral dissertations from other schools that are similar to my topic. They said something about using ProQuest to find examples. How do I do this?

Here are the major steps:

  • Go to the Brenau Graduate Education libguide: https://libguides.brenau.edu/grad-ed
  • Click the General Education tab, then scroll down to the box marked Theses & Dissertations. Choose the first link, Dissertation Abstracts By ProQuest Dissertations and Theses
  • Select Doctoral Dissertations Only, then use very basic search terms for your topic
  • If you see a promising dissertation without full text, search for the dissertation's title in Google Scholar. The author's university may have posted it online for free.
