Hello!

This is an interesting topic. If you want to find information in books and scholarly journal articles you should go to the library catalog at library.brenau.edu.  The search bar in the middle of the page will give you access to the library catalog.  I would use search terms such as "climate change" AND future.  Just remember to connect your keywords with the word AND. Other search terms might include

  • "climate change" AND future AND impact
  • "climate change" AND future AND extinction

Use the left-side toolbar to limit the dates to the last 5 years or so. With scientific topics, the more recent., the better.

The first results you will see will be books and ebooks.  If you want to read an ebook just click on the View eBook button and you will be asked to login using your Brenau username and password.  You can then use the table of contents to navigate to areas of the book that you find interesting or you can use the arrows to move back and forth through the pages.

You'll see results like

  • Garfin, G., & National Climate Assessment (U.S.). (2013). Assessment of climate change in southwest United States : A report prepared for the National Climate Assessment (National climate assessment regional technical input report series). Washington DC: Island Press.
  • Hannah, L. (2012). Saving a million species : Extinction risk from climate change. Washington, DC: Island Press. doi:10.5822/978-1-61091-182-5

Next, if you would like to see scholarly journal articles on your topic click on the box labeled Article under Format to the left-side toolbar of the results screen.  Set the date limiter, and choose Full Text and Peer Reviewed, also in the left-side toolbar. Click on the View Full Text button to be taken into the article.

You'll see articles such as

  • T., & W. (2012). Extinction and climate change. Nature, 482(7386), 4-5. doi:10.1038/nature10858

You may want to play around with your search terms as you narrow your research topic but this should give you a good start!
