You can find a good amount of information on this topic in a couple of different places.  First, for definitions of domestic violence  go to the psychology libguide at libguides.brenau.edu/psychology.  Choose the Background Research tab.  Enter the search term substance abuse into the Credo Reference box at the top of the page.  You will be asked to login using your Brenau username and password.  You will find many good definitions. 

Next, to find articles about the relationship between domestic violence and its impact on children go to the articles tab on the psychology libguide.  Choose the database Academic Search Complete.  Go ahead and limit your search by clicking on the Full Text and Scholary (Peer Reviewed) Journal boxes and then enter the search terms Domestic Violence AND Impact on Children.  You will find many good articles including titles such as:

A Study on domestic violence among the Anganwadi workers and its mental impact on their children.

and

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, CHILDREN, AND TOXIC STRESS.
