Question

Help with finding articles

Details

Kim,

So I am trying to find a journal article for Dr. Allen’s class and I am not sure which which database to choose. So I am in Libguides under our class but there is a lot of Nursing Journals and Nursing Articles to choose from. I chose one but I was not able to actually read the article just the abstract. Hoping you can give me some guidance.

Thank you,
Jessica Ray

I'm happy to help but could you give me some idea of what topic you would like for the article to be about?

Without knowing what your topic is here is some generalized help and I can help you more later:

Go to the articles tab on the nursing libguide here

Next, choose a database.  I would go into either Cinahl or Academic Search Complete further down the page.

Click on the Cinahl link and then login using your Brenau username and password.  Then click on the full text box to the bottom left of the search bar.  If there is a date limitation on your assignment (I can't remember if there is) enter your dates in the published dates boxes to the right.  For example, 2012 through 2017.  Then you'll need search terms.  If you are doing a topic such as alarms and desensitization then I would use search terms such as Alarm Fatigue AND Nursing.  Be sure to connect your search terms with the word AND.  I hope this helps.  Let us know if we can assist you further!
