Hello!

These are two very different, very broad research questions. You're first task is to narrow it down. Society addresses the needs of high risk children differently, depending on the particular risk, so let's talk about autism. Children with autism face difficulties in numerous areas of their daily lives. Just to name a few, there's the area of personal care, the area of social interactions, and the area of academic achievement. Since you're in Education, we'll focus on the areas that impact teachers - social interactions and academic achievement.

Click to the Articles tab of the Education LibGuide, a list of the best places to search for information on education. Choose Academic Search Complete. You'll be asked to log in with your Brenau username and password.

Paste in the search autism AND "social interaction". The quotation marks will focus the search, while the AND gives you more results. Use the toolbar on the left side of the page to limit the results to the last 5 years, and to full text, if you want. You can also limit to scholarly journals if the assignment requires that. You'll find articles like

  • Watkins, L., O'Reilly, M., Kuhn, M., Gevarter, C., Lancioni, G., Sigafoos, J., & Lang, R. (2015). A review of peer-mediated social interaction interventions for students with autism in inclusive settings. Journal of Autism & Developmental Disorders, 45(4), 1070-1083. doi:10.1007/s10803-014-2264-x
  • Stevenson, K., Jarred, S., Hinchcliffe, V., & Roberts, K. (2015). Can a dog be used as a motivator to develop social interaction and engagement with teachers for students with autism?. Support For Learning, 30(4), 341-363. doi:10.1111/1467-9604.12105

You could also search autism AND "interpersonal relations".

Looking at academic achievement, search autism AND "academic achievement". Using this search, you'll find articles like this:

  • Ledford, J., & Wehby, J. (2015). Teaching children with autism in small groups with students who are at-risk for academic problems: Effects on academic and social behaviors. Journal of Autism & Developmental Disorders, 45(6), 1624-1635. doi:10.1007/s10803-014-2317-1
  • Knight, V., McKissick, B., & Saunders, A. (2013). A review of technology-based interventions to teach academic skills to students with autism spectrum disorder. Journal of Autism & Developmental Disorders, 43(11), 2628-2648. doi:10.1007/s10803-013-1814-y

I may have missed your real topic, because the questions are very broad. If I did, reply and let us know how we can further help!

Thanks for asking.
