Hello!
To find out how television has changed society, search the Library catalog. The catalog will find both books and articles that you can read online.
First, search television AND impact AND society. The ANDs are important for good results, so be sure to include them. Use the left side toolbar to limit to articles. Limit the results to the last 10 years to avoid the really old stuff. You'll see articles such as Television's Impact on Today's People and Culture, Adolescent Perceptions of the Performance and Fairness of the Police: Examining the Impact of Television Exposure, and When TV and Marriage Meet: A Social Exchange Analysis of the Impact of Television Viewing on Marital Satisfaction and Commitment.
Next, using the left side toolbar, click off the articles and click on books. Relevant books include Social Issues in Television Fiction and Ads, Fads, and Consumer Culture: Advertising's Impact on American Character and Society. There are several more.
Click the View Online button to read the full text.
If you don't get enough material, revise your search to television AND change AND society. This will bring up a somewhat different set of results.
Thanks for Asking a Librarian!
