This is a great question which brings up an important point about the nature of academic research and writing. That is that you shouldn't necessarily have a thesis before you've looked at the literature. You may find, as you will with this topic, that the research does not support the idea that responsible drivers are just as dangerous as distracted drivers.
You can look at the research on this topic if you go to the all purpose libguide at libguides.brenau.edu/allpurpose and then choose the journal articles tab. Next, choose the database Academic Search Complete. You will be asked to login using your Brenau username and password. Next, limit your search by clicking on the full text and the scholarly (peer reviewed) journal boxes below the search bar. I used the search terms Distracted Driving AND Safety and I found many good articles that deal with this topic.
