Question

APA citation without DOI or retrieved from

Details

I am citing the following article in APA format for a paper.

Newson, P. (2008). Relocation to a care home, part one: exploring reactions. Nursing & Residential Care, 10(7), 321-324 4p.

I retrieved it from CINAHL, but the detailed record does not list a DOI or a retrieved from web address. In using APA format, should I state "Available from CINAHL Plus with Full Text, EBSCOhost" or is that only for other types of citations?

Thx
Shannon

Hi,

Not all articles have a DOI.  When the DOI is not available, the URL of the journal's home page is used in the reference entry instead. I Googled the title of the journal, and found the volume and issue page here: http://www.magonlinelibrary.com/toc/nrec/10/7.

If you click on the article page, you will find the DOI number.

http://www.magonlinelibrary.com/doi/10.12968/nrec.2008.10.7.30508

doi:10.12968/nrec.2008.10.7.30508

See the DOIs and URLs in a Reference Entry box on the Citing Sources tab of the Advanced Education LibGuide for specifics on formatting the citation.
