Hello!

What do you want to know about homeless children in America? Do you need stats and numbers? Do you need scholarly articles? I'll provide some general guidelines, and you can let us know by clicking the reply link if you need more specific information.

I would start with the All Purpose LibGuide at http://libguides.brenau.edu/allpurpose . It covers most subjects. Click on the Books Tab and scroll down to the Online Books Box. Click on eBrary and search "homeless children" AND america . The "AND" is an important part of the search, so be sure to include it. You'll find a number of useful books.

For articles, click on the Journal Articles Tab and choose Research Library. Run the same search here. Use the left-side toolbar to limit the date to the last 5 years. Academic Search Complete and ScienceDirect (listed in the LibGuide) also have some articles.

The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) also has some good information. Search Google using this search: "homeless children" AND america site:.gov . Paste it in exactly as it is here. You'll find a fact sheet and an article called Homeless Children and Youth: Causes and Consequences, along with other useful information.

Thanks for asking a librarian!
