This is a very interesting research topic and after doing some preliminary searching it appears to be a complex one.  When searching the literature I found a lot of research focusing on the benefits of the use of technology with children with disabilities.  Alternately, I found some information on the negative effects of technology use and social development.

First, go into the psychology libguide at libguides.brenau.edu/psychology.  Choose the articles tab to see a list of databases.  I chose ScienceDirect.  Enter the search terms Electronic Devices AND Children AND Social Development.  I found some good results here.  You can play around with your search terms to narrow your results. 

In addition to ScienceDirect I used the databases Child Development and Adolescent Studies and Academic Search Complete.

In addition, to what you will find in these databases I'm going to email you the permalinks to some articles that I found that were more difficult to retrieve.
