Hello! First, go into the psychology libguide @ libguides.brenau.edu/psychology and then click on the articles tab to see a list of databases where you will find good information on this topic. Click on the title of the database that you wish to search. I chose to go into Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. You will be asked to login using your Brenau username and password.
On the homepage of the database go ahead and limit your results by clicking on the full text and the peer reviewed scholarly publications boxes to the bottom left of the search bar. Then enter your search terms. I used the terms Violence AND Video Games. Don't forget to use the word AND to link your search terms. I got many good results using these search terms.
If you see an article that you think will be helpful for your assignment, click on the title of the article to see the full record, and then click on pdf full text to the left of your screen to read the full article. You can also email the article to yourself using the tool bar to the far right of your screen.
After searching this database I went into Academic Search Complete which is listed further down the page on the articles tab in the psychology libguide and I got even more excellent results. Again, remember to limit your search to full text and scholarly in this database for fewer more targeted results.
Thanks for Asking a Librarian!
