Hello!

To research your topic, begin with the All Purpose LibGuide. On the Journal Articles tab, choose Academic Search Complete. The search "Sexual orientation" AND cause will return good results. Use the left side toolbar to limit your results to scholarly, peer reviewed articles and to choose an acceptable date range, usually the last 5-10 years. The first article, Understanding the Causes of Same-sex Attraction may be helpful, as might Homosexual Orientation - From Nature, Not Abuse.

Going back to the LibGuide, the second database listed, Research Library, will also be useful. Using the same search terms, "Sexual orientation" AND cause, will return articles including A New Look at the Causes and Correlations of Sexual Orientation, as well as The Neurobiology of Sex/Gender-Based Attraction. On the results page, use the right side toolbar to limit the results to scholarly articles and the appropriate date range.

Thanks for asking a librarian.
