Hello,
First, you should go to the library's libguides at libguides.brenau.edu. Since your topic is Human Development you should choose the education libguide.
Click on the articles tab and this will take you to a list of databases that will be most helpful to you in your education searches and it will also include a list of databases that are helpful for searching Psychology topics as well.
For this question I would start with Academic Search complete. You will be asked to login in with your Brenau username and password.
Once you are in Academic Search Complete, enter a simple search term into the basic search box such as "human development" including the quotation marks so that academic search will know to search for these two terms together rather than separately. You may also want to narrow your search more by adding additional search terms to "human development" that are relevant to your topic since you will retrieve far too many results with a search as broad as human development. For instance, you could search for "human development" And education if you are interested in education as it relates to human development. Additionally, you should limit your search to full text if you want to receive only results to which you have full text access. Additionally, you may want to limit the search by date and to scholary journals. Your search will look something like this:
You will find that you get a lot of results. You can futher narrow these results by using the subject thesaurus terms and the subject terms to the left of your results screen.
I hope this is helpful to you.
