When I try to view a full text ebook on my tablet it wants to download the pages rather than view then in the browser.

My tablet is a Samsung galaxy tab. Tired different browsers and updating adobe, none help.

First, eliminate the basic issue. Be sure you are clicking "eBook full text" rather than "download".

Next, have you downloaded the app for the Android OS? Most databases are designed for laptop operating systems.
