How to I format names like J. E. de Niet in an APA reference entry?

Is the "de" part of the last name?

Names that begin with "de" such as de Niet or de Koning are listed as De Niet, J.E. or De Koning, C.M.

The manual doesn't specifically address it, but it does talk about the prefixes M', Mc, and Mac on page 181-182. It also shows an example of Von Ledebur, S. C. on page 199. The name is actually Sidonia C. von Ledebur.

The same rule would apply.
