Governmental websites should have good statistics on some of the problems that Americans face due to lack of physical activity. Go to google and limit your search to governmental websites by typing site:gov and then your search terms. I used this search string:
site:gov statistics on lack of exercise and american health problems
and I got some really good results. You might also try some additional searches such as site:gov statistics on morbidity and lack of physical activity in americans.
If you want information from scholarly journal articles I would go to Academic Search Complete which you may get to from the articles tab on the all purpose research guide at libguides.brenau.edu/allpurpose. I used the search string physical activity or exercise AND morbidity and I got some good scholarly articles.
