under "held formats" it says "journal/magazine/newspaper" - is this not an actual book?

Yes, you absolutely are allowed to check out books if you are a Brenau student! It is also not a problem for us to send the book to Norcross, since that's where you attend classes. We can send books to any campus. Books we own are usually checked out for a month, and returned to the front desk at the Norcross campus. Books we borrow from other libraries for you are handled a bit differently - the other library sets the due date.
The title that you mentioned is a book owned by Brenau and you can see the record for the book here: http://brenau.worldcat.org/oclc/467711589.
Click the reply link in this response, and let me know when you will be on the Norcross campus next. If possible, we'll have it waiting for you.
For future reference, there's a form for requesting books and articles on the books tab of the OT libGuide . Complete it any time and we'll get it to you.
Glad to help!
