The easiest way to find an article when you have the citation is to search it in our Library Catalog. Go to https://brenau.on.worldcat.org/discovery and paste the article title into the search box. The article will most likely be the first result. Click the "View Now" link next to the orange circle with the white e in it. Click on "View Full Text" for any of the databases listed. This will take you to the article. If you don't see the "View now" links, it means that the journal isn't available to us in full text. The good news is that this article is available full text.

You will need a password. When prompted, enter your 6 digit student ID number (the one you use to log into CampusWeb to register for classes) and the first part of your email address (everything before the @). See http://libanswers.brenau.edu/a.php?qid=87067 if you have questions or problems with the login.

  1. I have three times to access this article. I logged in following the instructions above, searched, found the article and then the 'retrieving' wheels start spinning. Underneath the article, it shows "Getting this item's online copy..." with a spinning green circle of dots but the article never becomes accessible.

  2. I was unable to replicate your problem, but I have an alternative solution to access your article:

    1) Go to the library catalog at http://brenau.worldcat.org

    2) In the upper-right corner of the page, hover over "Brenau Trustee Library". You'll see several more selections drop down - click on JOURNALS A-Z.

    3) Use the search box on this page to search for your journal title, American Journal of Public Health.

    4) Your search results show you a number of databases that contain that journal. I recommend clicking on the third: MEDLINE with Full Text. [You may need to log in with your 6-digit Brenau ID number and your Brenau username to view the database page.]

    5) Use the options on the right side of the MEDLINE page to choose your article's year (2012) and issue (Vol. 102, Issue 6).

    6) Your article is #6 among those listed for this issue in MEDLINE. Click on PDF FULL TEXT to see the article in its entirety.

I'll forward your original problem on to our systems librarian Robin Mize, as she handles problems with database access. In the meantime, please let us know if you are still having problems with access and we'll be happy to help!
